Kim P. Sami writes with passion and candour of the depths of despair and the peaks of rapture, of self-doubt and contentment, of the courage to embrace change and the importance of setting her own agenda. Above and through it all, Orisons is an expression of Kim’s faith, her love of music, and the many ways in which they have sustained her.

‘Kim’s passion for life and for the dignity and truthfulness of both her suffering and her joys, are among the many gems that readers will find in Orisons… a beautiful and graceful collection of poems with, not surprisingly for someone with as great a love for music and song as Kim, something of the lyrical quality of psalms.’ Mauro Di Nicola from Foreword

Thank you for bringing “Orisons” to me yesterday.
This book is a delight to read. It even feels good to hold and the way it is published is so easy to read and attractive. I thought I would dip into it last night and ended up reading all. It became an evening prayer to end 2021.
Your reflections are both soul searching and thought provoking. I love how you have composed them in different forms.
These will be my spiritual reading especially over the next few days and I really look forward to hearing the comments of the other Book Club members.

    Dear Kim,
Your deep healing soulful journey is reflected in your images and words with such honesty. I can feel the progression in your poetry, the movement from being ‘held back’ to liberation. It’s powerful!
My favourites are ‘Define Me’ and ‘To the Younger, Freer Me’. I think we can all relate to those parts of us that are not recognised or that are young and needing nurture.
Thankyou for having the guts to share the wisdom you’ve gleaned from your own life experience.
    I say: ‘WATCH THIS SPACE!’

I have read Orisons. It is indeed a soulful book. i felt it was both unique and very intimate, but also universal in our experience of self-doubt, our fears and failures, the child within, risk-taking, faith and love.

This is a beautiful book full of uplifting poetry. Very calming for this too busy world of ours. Thoroughly recommended.

Thanks, Peter! Love your printing service, South West Printing southwestprinting.com.au. My book would not have looked as good without your excellent printing!

I very much enjoyed reading “Orisons Soulful Reflection”. I started off reading 1 poem and before I knew it, I wanted to read them all. Each poem released a new emotion. My favourite is “Define Me”. I found the writing sincere and thought provoking.
Thank you to Kim Sami for the beautiful collection of poems.

  6. Miri Skerra

A beautiful cover illustration by which we may safely judge the book – Kim has in her knapsack on the journey through the landscapes of her life a collection of relatable poems about the ups and downs, the view beyond and the deep experience of faith through reflection. Love it! My favourites: the Need to Go Within Awhile, Made of Music, To Hold On, and in fact all of them.

Whether we are religious, agnostic or atheist, there is something for all of us in Orisons. I like browsing through these little gems over a cup of tea, always a good time to go ‘within awhile’ and reflect on the paths, crossroads and stations of one own’s life and find new courage and perspective. Thank you Kim!
